Finding New Ways to Celebrate Black History Through Education

In honor of Black History Month in 2022, Quotient held a variety of internal and external initiatives to give our employees the opportunity to educate themselves and take action to support the Black community. While we already shared one such initiative, the Quotient Creator Series, we’re excited to talk more about the different ways that our employees learned about and engaged with Black history throughout the month of February.

Quotient Celebrates Black History Month

To start, Quotient offered a series of self-led virtual tours of historically significant sites, both local to Quotient’s offices and across the US, and curated content in our learning and development platform with a focus on empathy, dialogue and conversation.

We also highlighted six Black-led and Black-benefiting charitable organizations through our matching gift platform. The campaign featured organizations that focus on challenging systemic racial inequities through education, legislation and economic resilience.

In 2021, Quotient employees enjoyed learning to make the classic dish, Shrimp and Grits, from Just Soul Catering’s head chef, Sharon Richardson. Sharon will be returning for this popular event to share a new recipe and discuss soul food’s origin and significance along the way.

Finally, we’re closing out the month by holding a virtual discussion on the themes of injustice and prejudice in movies and media.

We truly enjoyed sharing these learning experiences during Black History Month, and we look forward to finding new and creative ways to support the Black community moving forward.
