MikeWalshEver since Quotient founder Steven Boal recruited his former colleague, Mike Walsh, as the company’s first employee, Walsh has been the person largely responsible for the direction and development of technology for the company. That’s what he loves – figuring out technical solutions that can help millions of people.

He also loves working with young engineers and aspiring entrepreneurs. That’s why he has started mentoring students at his alma mater, Northwestern’s McCormick School of Engineering, where he received his master’s degree in industrial engineering in 1983. This year, he served as the entrepreneur-in-residence at a university event where he spoke with students interested in entering the startup world.

In June, Walsh had the honor of giving a commencement address to master’s degree candidates, sharing his personal story and offering some advice for navigating the world outside academia. Walsh helped build his six startups before he joined Quotient.
