Ask Blake Burrus to describe himself, and he likes to say that he’s “half nerd, half capitalist.” Turns out that’s a good combination for Quotient, and we’re pleased that Blake has joined the company as our Vice President of Data and Analytics – a job that requires nerd-like obsession with data and results.
“Data and insights is a big focus at Quotient, and there’s a clear intent to get new offerings into the market,” said Blake. “That’s a rare opportunity.”
Based in our Cincinnati office, Blake brings more than 15 years of experience in data, analytics, and leading teams. A big part of his career was with Nielsen, where he worked in several divisions. As the Senior Vice President of Nielsen NeuroFocus, Blake led the neuroscience business in North America, helping to improve advertising, branding and packaging for consumer packaged goods (CPG) clients – all through the prism of neuroscience. His team of neuroscientists analyzed consumer thought, emotion and behavior.
Before that role, Blake held a variety of positions for Nielsen BASES, the innovation division that helps CPGs, telecoms and pharmaceutical companies forecast and optimize product launches. Blake spent eight years in Belgium and the U.K., where he led Nielsen’s global expansion across Europe and Asia. He oversaw the creation, launch and implementation of a new system for optimizing sales and used it to bring several new products to market for Unilever. He also led the expansion of the innovation practice into new verticals, including technology, telecom and restaurants.
More recently, Blake was the Executive Vice President of Customer Success at ThinkVine, which provides attribution and forecasting software for companies such as Urban Outfitters and Hyatt Hotels. He led the company’s technical and customer success teams and was responsible for delivering analytics and insights.
Blake holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Indiana University Bloomington. He reports to Mir Aamir, President and COO. For more background, find him on LinkedIn.
