(NYSE: QUOT), a leading digital promotions and media company that connects brands, retailers, and shoppers, today announced that consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands can now offer digital coupons through interactive TV ads.

The offering is made through a partnership with interactive TV company Ensequence. Traditionally, interactive television’s reach has been limited to households with smart TVs or streaming devices such as Apple TV or Roku. This is the first time a company has been able to distribute CPG digital coupons through national TV ads without the need of special hardware. Ensequence has distribution to more than 15 million Comcast customers as well as through 62 network affiliates such as Discovery, AMC, VH1, A&E, the History Channel, National Geographic and more.

TV viewers will see an overlay on an ad that prompts them to text a code to retrieve a link for a digital coupon from Coupons.com. Then, once they buy the item, they scan the receipt with their smartphone and get a cash-back rebate that goes to PayPal. Alternatively, consumers can print the coupon to use it at checkout.
