Close Incorporated Names Sunil Bopardikar Vice President of Engineering

Executive Appointment to Drive Company’s Continued Technology Innovation and Scale Company’s Products and Services to Support Accelerating Demand for Digital Coupons

Mountain View, CA – June 15, 2010 – Incorporated, the recognized leader in digital coupons, today announced that Sunil Bopardikar has joined the company as vice president of engineering. He will oversee’s product development functions, including engineering, quality assurance, databases and infrastructure and will report to CTO Steve Horowitz. Mr. Bopardikar brings more than 20 years of engineering and product development experience and, over the course of his career, has held a range of positions at high profile Silicon Valley technology companies, including Yahoo! Inc., Oracle Corp. and Sun Microsystems, Inc.

Most recently, Mr. Bopardikar was senior director of engineering at Yahoo!. With a focus on scalability, performance and high availability, he was responsible for the technology platform behind many of the company’s products. He also oversaw the development of internal Platform Services and Tools used in new product testing, advertising performance and quality measurement, abuse prevention, and other key functions monitored by Yahoo! to ensure continuous measurement and improvement.

Before joining Yahoo!, Mr. Bopardikar was director of engineering at Oracle, where he was responsible for the introduction of several software as a service (SaaS) offerings on Oracle On Demand. In addition, he oversaw key customer applications hosted at Oracle’s data centers. Before his tenure at Oracle, Mr. Bopardikar co-founded, ipSpeech, Inc., where he was CTO for this developer of voice routers that leveraged natural language speech recognition to streamline call center automation.

Prior to co-founding ipSpeech, Mr. Bopardikar was director of engineering at Telera, Inc., which introduced the call center industry’s first ASP-based solution and was later acquired by Alcatel. Before that, Mr. Bopardikar held a variety of engineering positions at JavaSoft (a subsidiary of Sun Microsystems), AirSoft, Inc. (acquired by Shiva Corp.), Sun Microsystems, Inc., and Convergent & Altos Computer Systems.

Mr. Bopardikar holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a M.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.
